Witches Brew

In Snacks on October 30, 2009 at 2:08 pm

It’s Halloween and we’re drinking Witches Brew. If it wasn’t Halloween we could call it Swamp Juice or Bug Juice or make up your own name. Applewitches-brew juice is a good base. So is lemonade. Add dome ginger ale or lemon lime soda to give it a kick. Add other juices and or food coloring to make it look different. Add gummy worms, gummy fish or whatever gummy other crawler you have. You can even freeze some ice cubes of the stuff to make it more interesting.Add some tapioca pearls to make it interesting.

Serve it up with a gummy worm crawling out. Fun in a punch bowl for parties. Best served in clear plastic cups.

Poped out eyeballs

In Snacks on October 17, 2009 at 2:45 pm

This is a seasonal Halloween treat that is as much fun to make as to eat. This idea came from Family Fun Online Magazine. We drank warm apple cider while we madeeyeballs our eyeballs.

Start with a box of donut holes. Melt white chocolate and coat them. A plastic fork is a good holder for the donut hole. It works better if you baste the donut with the chocolate instead of dipping the donut into the chocolate.

Allow the white coating t harden by placing the donuts on wax paper. Melt chocolate chips and add a dollop of dark chocolate to each hole for the iris.

Use red cake icing to make a squiggly bloodshot effect.

Enjoy.

Dog bones

In Dinner, Snacks on October 17, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Halloween or any time – kids love eating dog bones. They are so easy. Start with a package of  refrigerated breadstick dough. Stretch the dough to lengthen a bit for a longer bone. Using scissors, cut a slit, approximately 1 1/2″ in the center of each end. Roll the cit pieces into a ball or roll at the end of each bone. Back according to directions. Sprinkle with coarse sale before baking. Grrrrr…do not bury in the back yard.photo (6)I learned about this recipe from  Family Fun online magazine.
